EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

STANDARDS COMMITTEE

14TH JUNE 2019

CODE OF CONDUCT CASEBOOK

The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales publishes a Code of Conduct case book providing details of Code investigations which the Ombudsman considers provide useful guidance to Councillors and Standards Committees.

The attached casebook (published in February)contains details of 4 cases where no evidence of a breach was found and 7 cases where although evidence of a breach was found, the Ombudsman considered it was not necessary for him to take any action.

One of the latter cases relates to a Town Council in Carmarthenshire.

Members are asked to note the Ombudsman’s comments in relation to all the cases and identify any points that they wish to consider further.
