Rhoi gwybod i'r Cyd-bwyllgor ynghylch statws presennol y prosiect seilwaith digidol sy'n cael ei ariannu drwy gyfrwng Bargen Ddinesig Bae Abertawe.

RHESYMAU:

Sicrhau bod y Cyd-bwyllgor yn cael y wybodaeth ddiweddaraf yn rheolaidd am y prosiect.

 

Yn wreiddiol, trefnwyd bod yr eitem hon yn cael ei thrafod ar 16 Hydref 2018, fodd bynnag roedd y cyfarfod heb gworwm. Fodd bynnag cafodd yr Aelodau wybod am statws presennol y Dyfarniad Tendr Seilwaith Digidol, Rhwydwaith Ffeibr Llawn Lleol a 5G yng Nghymru a oedd gyda'i gilydd yn ffurfio'r prosiect seilwaith digidol a ariennir o dan Fargen Ddinesig Bae Abertawe. Yn ogystal, nododd yr Aelodau fod disgwyl i Achos Busnes drafft cychwynnol gael ei gyflwyno i'r Swyddfa Ranbarthol tuag at ddiwedd mis Rhagfyr 2018.

Digital Infrastructure Project Update

 

Digital Infrastructure Tender Award:

 

On 24th September 2018 a contract was awarded to CUBE Ultra ltd in partnership with Innovation Point to deliver the Digital Infrastructure 5 Case Business Plan and supporting research. An inception meeting was held w/c 1st October and the contract will run to the end of April 2018. Development of the business case and is on track. Workshops have been held with the other SBCD projects to identify synergies and significant data gathered and analysis has been undertaken to support development of the plan.

 

Local Full Fibre Network (LFFN):

 

A secondary element of the contract will be to support the full development of a regional bid to LFFN Wave 3 which was launched in the summer 2018. Work to progress a regional LFFN bid to the Wave 3 competition has begun led by Swansea Council who, with the support of CUBE Ultra ltd, will be developing the full bid for submission to DCMS later this year. Discussions with DCMS have continued to emphasise preference for larger, regional bids and a regional data gathering exercise has been undertaken to ensure the needs and requirements of all areas of the Region are reflected. 

 

5G in Wales:

 

Pan Wales group established, led by Innovation Point, to discuss and explore opportunities for Wales to harness and exploit deployment of 5G technologies. The SBCD Region has advanced thinking on 5G and is represented on the group who will discuss initial views on priorities for Wales on 16th November.
